Marvel’s first family, The Fantastic Four, have had an illustrious journey in the comic book medium ever since their debut in 1960. With such a rich history in the multiverse, the Fantastic Four are a representation of the Marvel brand itself; bold, inspirational and timeless.

Fantastic Four on the big screen so far!

The Fantastic Four have had quite a journey on both the big and small screens. With five films starring the characters released to date and countless other animated TV shows, Mr. Fantastic and his gang of misfits have had a glorious run on both the big and small screens so far. 

The first Fantastic Four was the 1994 Roger Corman produced one which never saw an official release. 20th Century Fox would then make two features based on Marvel’s first family in 2005 and 2007. With Ioan Gruffudd as Mr Fantastic, Jessica Alba as Sue Storm, Chris Evans as Johnny Storm and Michael Chiklis as The Thing, these two films saw good box office success in a time when comic book movies hadn't really dominated cinemas everywhere. A reboot followed in 2015 that imploded both commercially and critically, ending all hopes for the franchise until Disney Marvel got back the rights to the characters in 2019.

A variant of Mr. Fantastic (played by John Krasinski) appeared in Doctor Strange 2 while Chris Evans’ reprised his role as Johnny Storm in Deadpool and Wolverine (2024) In 2025, the Fantastic Four were rebooted into the MCU with an all-new cast. This latest film managed to become the highest grossing Fantastic Four film of all time. With the Fantastic Four set to take center stage in the upcoming Avengers flicks, the cinematic future of these characters has never been brighter.
